Semmi went for a check-up in Greenville, South Carolina, where he had an X-ray of his hips.
We were also still looking for reassurance about the Barcelona surgery and opened to any oter suggestions…
The results were reassuring: his hips are misaligned, but so far within acceptable limits (27% left and 28%right) and there hasn’t been a progression since last year.
We also scheduled a gait study (possible after 6yrs of age) which will help us plan the best approach for the coming months and years. There’s still a possibility that he may need major surgery to help realign his hips but in the meantime the surgery being considered in Barcelona, Spain, should be very beneficial, as we’re focusing on helping Semmi loosen his tendons to prevent any further complications and assure his bones and joints are developing with as little pressure as possible.
We’re staying positive and on track for the Spain trip, feeling confident that with the right care, Semmi is heading toward a strong and active future!
